  • A structured environment for finding closure

What Finalnote Is Not

Important: Finalnote is not a medical device, therapy session, or substitute for professional mental health care. The AI simulation is a technological tool designed to support—not replace—human connection and professional guidance.

2. Medical and Therapeutic Disclaimers

Not a Replacement for Professional Care

Finalnote offers an AI simulation platform that allows users to engage in conversations designed to support the grieving process. Our service provides:

  • Finalnote is not therapy, counselling, or medical treatment
  • Our service cannot diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any mental health condition
  • The AI responses are generated based on algorithms and your input—they are not professional medical or therapeutic advice
  • We strongly encourage seeking support from qualified grief counsellors, therapists, or medical professionals

When to Seek Professional Help

3. How Our Service Works

Registration and Onboarding

  • You must provide accurate information about yourself and your relationship to the deceased
  • You must be at least 18 years old to use our service
  • You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account

AI Simulation Process

  • You provide information about your deceased loved one to personalise the AI responses
  • The AI will only reference information you've provided to maintain authenticity
  • Conversations are time-limited to support healthy grieving processes
  • All interactions are clearly identified as AI-generated

AI Technology

  • Our service uses Claude AI API by Anthropic to generate conversational responses
  • AI responses are created by machine learning algorithms, not human consciousness
  • The AI processes the information you provide to create contextually appropriate responses
  • All AI interactions are clearly labelled as artificial intelligence, never as genuine communication from the deceased

Data Accuracy and Limitations

  • The AI cannot know things about your loved one that you haven't shared
  • Responses are generated based on patterns and algorithms, not genuine memory or emotion
  • We cannot guarantee that AI responses will always align perfectly with your loved one's actual personality

4. User Responsibilities

Appropriate Use

You agree to:

  • Use the service only for its intended purpose of grief support

  • Respect the time limitations placed on conversations
  • Understand that this is a tool for processing grief, not for ongoing communication with the deceased

Prohibited Uses

You may not:

  • Use the service if you are under 18 years of age
  • Share your account access with others
  • Attempt to circumvent time limitations
  • Use the service for purposes other than grief processing
  • Input false or misleading information about the deceased

  • Service availability depends on internet connectivity and our technical infrastructure
  • We strive for 99% uptime but cannot guarantee uninterrupted service
  • AI responses may occasionally be delayed or unavailable due to technical issues

Content Limitations

  • AI responses are limited to information you provide
  • The AI cannot access external information about your loved one
  • Responses may not always perfectly capture your loved one's personality or manner of speaking

7. Payment and Subscription Terms

Pricing

  • Service fees are clearly displayed before purchase
  • All prices include applicable VAT where required
  • Prices may change with 30 days&aspos; notice to existing users

Refund Policy

  • Refunds are available within 14 days of purchase if the service has not been activated
  • Once you begin your conversation session, refunds are not available due to the personalised nature of the service
  • Technical issues preventing service use may qualify for refunds at our discretion

Billing

  • Payments are processed securely through Stripe, our trusted payment partner
  • You authorise us to charge your payment method for applicable fees
  • Failed payments may result in service suspension

8. Intellectual Property

  • Finalnote's platform, technology, and content are protected by intellectual property laws

10. Termination

Your Right to Terminate

  • You may also delete individual Connections (contacts) without deleting your entire account
  • Account deletion will remove access to all conversations and data
  • Deleted accounts and Connections cannot be recovered

Our Right to Terminate

We may suspend or terminate your account if:

  • You violate these Terms of Service
  • You use the service inappropriately or unsafely
  • We determine that continued use may be harmful to your wellbeing
  • Technical or legal requirements necessitate termination

11. Changes to Terms

  • Material changes will be communicated via email or platform notification
  • Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of new Terms
  • You may terminate your account if you disagree with updated Terms
